FMLA Leave during a state shutdown

Question: What happens to FLMA and insurance should state employees be laid off July 1, 2011

Answer: If your position is considered Non-Critical you will not be able to use FMLA leave during a state shutdown because you will be laid off, the period of the shutdown would NOT count against your 12 weeks of unpaid FMLA leave.
